Fun Games for Both Parents and Children

By Mei Yee

Some games are made specifically for children, some are made with children in mind, and some games that the whole family will love.

When it comes to non-electronic games, you really can’t beat the classic board games. Even if they are newer versions of the ones, we played as kids. In our house, the board games we play are; Life, Clue, Candy Land, Operation, Hungry Hungry Hippos, Mouse Trap, and Trouble.

When it comes to electronic games, some are multiplayer, and some are not. So, we take turns playing them or help each other. With the age gap between my girls, I need to find games for a four-year-old and an eleven-year-old that are fun for both of them.

Super Mario Games; Super Mario Party, Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, Super Mario 3D World, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and Super Mario Odyssey.

When it comes to Odyssey and Kingdom Battle, these are mainly single-player games with an option to have two players, but not as fun. For these games, we take turns and help each other out. For example, one of us can’t get past the level of challenge we are on, so we pass the controller to someone else who wants to try it.

The other video games we play are; Just Dance, Splatoon 2, Overcooked! 2, Pokemon: Let’s Go! Typically Pokemon games are single-player, but this game allows a second player to join to help in the battles. This is a game my kids will actually sit down and play together without fighting with each other!
