An Open Letter to My Nieces & Nephews

To the ones who have my whole heart,

Your life is the most precious thing to me. Watching you grow from a child to the person you are today, has given me such happiness and joy.

Every day I pray that you wake up and know that you are loved, you are wanted, and you are special. Every day I pray that you look in the mirror and know that you are fearfully and wonderfully made and that you are perfect as you are. Every day I pray that you follow your heart. To know that your dreams and passions matter. To know that your purpose, no matter what dream you pursue, is to bring all of the love, kindness, and joy to this world as you have brought to me. Every day I pray that God will fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope.

Life is not always fair or easy, but life is always worth it. Life is a gift that you were given and your life means something. To live is the greatest adventure of all.

My dream for you is to become the person you are meant to be. My dream is for you to see the world and conquer it. My dream for you is to never give up and always push forward.

I want to leave you with one of my favorite verses: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9. This verse has guided me to be the best version of myself because I know the Lord is with me.

I wish this for you. I wish this for you because though I am always here for you, I will not always be on earth to remind you, but God will always be there for you. Never forget that. Never forget you matter. Never forget you are special. You are precious. And you are loved.
