Experiment: Lava Lamp

For this experiment you will need:

1. Water

2. Oil

3. Cup (or jar, something that is clear)

4. Seltzer tablets

5. Food dye (optional)

We poured one cup of water in each cup. We did find out the bigger the cup the more water should be added so you can see what is happening better.

Next, we added 3/4 cup of oil. Again, the bigger the cup the more you should add. The instructions we found were for smaller 12 oz cups, the ones we used are at least 24 oz. After the oil, they slowly dropped in the food dye.

We started out with dropping just one tablet in. Once those seem to fizzle out, we added another!

Overall, it was a quick and fun experiment!
